Artificial intelligence has acted as the main driver of coming up with technologies like big data, robotics, and IoT, and it will continue to act as a technological developer for the expected future.

  •  Medicine: Artificial Intelligence is going to make a vast difference in medical line and will take to a different level, a different course of treatment will be available for every person, taking into account their genetic profile and very complex and specific details of their problem. AI is expanding it's data processing abilities. Google and Intel are also working on data collection software to get a hold of large amounts of data for certain specific medical researches.

  • Autonomous Transports: World Economic Forum and The Boston Consulting Group conducted a three-year program in which they calculated and analyzed the effect of autonomous vehicles in the city of Boston, the result of the study showed that a lot of people will select autonomous commutes by the next decade hence we should soon be ready for the sight of a car driving itself.
  • Construction and Infrastructure: A lot of dangerous manual work can be replaced by AI in the construction industry, the construction industry is very slow in adapting to changes hence a lot of scopes is there to include, 3D modelers for planning and designing have created by some developers of buildings and the internal component. Drones are being used to record the detailed pictures of parts of buildings that are otherwise difficult to approach.
  • Waste Management: AI is the future of waste management and disposal items. Smart trashcans can test the level of garbage in them,  then send the information to garbage collection authorities. 
  • Enhancing the existing technology: Alexa, Siri, and Cortana are just infants and will grow and become useful and responsible adults in the next decade. Some AI professionals and Facebook are working together to make advanced facial recognition software. If you already feel that search bars are reading your mind then be prepared for more because Google is applying machine learning.

 The above advancement sounds exciting and apparently, we are going towards an Artificial Intelligence controlled future, most people started considering it as a threat. Stephen Hawking has said in an article that AI can in the future become powerful and not necessary for good hence the risks should be kept in mind. 

There is no doubt that Artificial Intelligence is the future but it also increases some extreme questions in mind like shall we stop the propagation of Artificial Intelligence or are the risks manageable?

Uses of Artificial Intelligence

There are two major broad categories of Artificial Intelligence:


1. Narrow Artificial Intelligence: Narrow Artificial can also be said that weak Artificial Intelligence. It is a simulation of human intelligence and also this kind of artificial intelligence operates within a limited context. This machine can seem intelligent but it often focused on performing a single task extremely well. Narrow artificial intelligence is powered by breakthroughs in machine learning and deep learning. It is the most successful realization of artificial intelligence to date and is all around us easily. Some of the examples of Narrow artificial intelligence are Google search, image recognition software, personal assistants like Siri and Alexa, self-driving cars, and IBM’s Watson.

2. Artificial General Intelligence: As per the report, sometimes it referred to as strong artificial intelligence. Artificial general intelligence is the kind of artificial intelligence that we see in movies. Just like human beings, Artificial general intelligence is also a machine with general intelligence and it can apply that intelligence to solve any problem. Experts said that it is not something we need to worry about anytime soon. It is the creation of a machine with human-level intelligence that can be applied in any task.
