Mark Zuckerberg Is Color Blind

Today, Facebook has marked its presence in almost each and every part of the world, engaging a monthly user base of over 2.7 billion monthly active users. And if we see today, Facebook has the biggest social network worldwide.

In 2004, Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. All of them were students of Harvard University. In the present day, Facebook became the largest social network in the world. The Facebook company’s headquarter are in Menlo Park, California.

Access to this site is completely free, no charge, the company earns most of its money from advertisements on the websites. Users can create their profile, upload their videos, photos, may join the preexisting groups, or if they want they can start a new group.

This site has many components such as  a space on each user’s profile page where they can post their contents, Timeline, Status which enables the user to alert friends to their current location or their current situation, and News Feed  which informs the users of changes to their friend's profile or status. Users can chat with their friends or family and also send them private messages.

This social network, Facebook.com launched in February 2004. Students of Harvard University who signed up for the services could post photographs of themselves and any personal information about their lives and many more. Day by day its popularity increased, and soon students from the other prestigious schools, such as Yale and Stanford Universities, were allowed to join.

In June 2004 more than 2,50,000  students from 34 schools had signed up, and that same year major corporation such as the credit card company  MasterCard started paying for its exposure on this site.

In September 2004, Facebook added the Wall to a member’s online profile. This feature let the user’s friends post information on their wall and became a key element.

By the end of 2004, Facebook had reached one million active users.

The year 2005 proved to be pivotal for the company. Facebook introduced the idea of “tagging” people in videos or photos that were posted to the site. This site allowed users to upload an unlimited number of photos or videos.  By the end of the year 2005, Facebook had six million monthly active users.

The greatest news came in 2006, Facebook opened its membership beyond students to anyone over the age of 13. As the founder of Facebook Zuckerberg found that, advertisers were able to create new and effective customer relationships. This type of direct customer engagement on such a large scale had not been possible before Facebook.

In the year 2007, Facebook launched a short-lived services called Beacon that let member friends see what products they had purchased from the participating companies. In 2010, Facebook is in the bottom five percent of the companies in terms of customer satisfaction largely because of privacy concerns.

 Mark Zuckerberg Interview

As reported Zuckerberg suffers from red-green colorblindness. This is the main reason behind the fact that why Facebook's primary color scheme is blue in color.

According to Mark Zuckerberg's interview held in New York in 2010. Zuckerberg told reporter Jose Antonio Vargas that " Blue is the richest color for me, I can see all of blue."

Another very important and interesting factor for using blue color is that most of the colors tend to distract the viewers or visitors to the site. On the other side blue acts as a transparent background to the main content as visible to the human brain due to this fact mainly most popular websites tend to use the blue color background. We can also say that it is the webmaster's favorite color and sometimes blue color also referred to as 'Nirvana' for the brain.

All these facts make blue colors a prominent color for Facebook.
